High school sports: On tap for the week of March 24-30

The Tiger-Trojan Classic, and Norman North Invitational and Bronco Cup are among this week's events.

Baseball

Tiger-Trojan Classic

When: Thursday through Saturday

Where: Broken Arrow and Jenks

The story: Three top five teams will be competing in the eight-team field, including Class 6A No. 4 Broken Arrow, 5A No. 5 Deer Creek and A No. 2 Sterling. Edmond Memorial, Edmond Santa Fe, Moore, Tulsa Memorial and Fayetteville, Ark., round out the field. Sterling and Deer Creek play at 7 p.m. Thursday at Jenks.

Golf

Norman North Invitational

When: 8 a.m. Tuesday

Where: OU Jimmie Austin Golf Club

The story: This 36-hole event provides a good early preview of the Class 6A boys state tournament, both from a team and individual perspective. Reigning individual champ Max McGreevy — a future Oklahoma Sooner — and eight-time defending team champion Edmond North will be in the field.
