Coach pleads with fans not to boo U.S. anthem Published: March 26, 2013

The United States men's national team continues its road to the 2014 World Cup Tuesday night with a difficult qualifier against Mexico in one of the most hostile venues in the world — Estadio Azteca. The United States has never won a qualifier at Azteca, and the incredible atmosphere created by more than 100,000 opposing fans has certainly played its part in the USMNT's struggles.

During a press conference Monday, the coach of the Mexican national team, José Manuel de la Torre, did his part to ensure the fervent Mexico fanbase behaves itself, requesting that fans refrain from booing the American national anthem prior to kickoff.
