Kevin Durant said something interesting in the locker room after the Clipper game Tuesday night. He said the Thunder is transforming “into a different team.”

Our man Darnell Mayberry pounced. “An uptempo team,” Durant said. “An uptempo team that plays defense. That’s kind of rare.”

Great insight by Durant. He’s exactly right. It is a rare team that can go quickly on offense yet play doberman defense. The two traits in one way run counter; fast offense can leave you vulnerable defensively, though tough defense and ignite transition offense.
