Big 12 Tournament: OSU & OU seedings
Normally this time of year, I’m all over the possible Big 12 Tournament pairings. When and who will the Bedlam rivals play in Kansas City?
Old habits are hard to break. I’m going to figure out the scenarios. I don’t know who cares this awful season, but here goes.
Let’s start with the men, since the Bedlam rivals play today in Norman.
IF OSU MEN WIN TODAY
The Cowboys are the ninth seed. They could be in a two-way tie at 7-9 with the Colorado-Nebraska winner, or Baylor could join them in a three-way if the Bears lose to Texas today. But OSU loses the tiebreakers in either scenario. The ninth seed plays the eighth seed at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Kansas City. The eighth seed will be the Nebraska-Colorado loser, no matter what Baylor does.
OU will be the 11th seed and play at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday against the sixth seed. Baylor will be the sixth seed if the Bears beat Texas today. If Texas beats Baylor, the Colorado-Nebraska winner is the sixth seed. The Buffs and Cornhuskers play today in Boulder.
IF OU MEN WIN TODAY
OU will be the 10th seed, if Colorado beats Nebraska today. OU will be the 11th seed if Nebraska beats Colorado. The 10th seed plays at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday in Kansas City. The seventh seed will be the Nebraska-Colorado winner if Baylor beat Texas today. If Texas beats Baylor, Baylor is the seventh seed.
OSU will be the ninth seed, if Texas Tech loses, as expected, at Texas A&M. If Tech upset A&M, OSU will be the 10th seed.
