OU basketball: What we’ve learned today

Stacey King seems like an excellent choice. I think that's a great idea. Joe C. should give it a shot at least.

What about Tommy Griffith? Seems he knows how to raise boys to men?

Here is a name for you nobody even thought about? How about Stacey King he would be a great fit because he is one of the greatest Sooner players of all time and he's coached in the CBA and took his team to a championship game and won over 75% of his CBA games. He gave up coaching to be with his kids and is currently one of the top NBA broadcasters on T.V today. I brought up his name the other day and everyone agree he would be a GREAT fit for the Sooners!!!! Joe C get on the phone and call Stacey in Chicago NOW!!! Lets bring back running and gunning and excitement back to Sooner land.

Dave Rose would have been a home run for Joe C. Barry Trammel is a moron. Dave Rose grew up in Houston, and isn't a Utah lifer. The last sentence is poorly thought out. His religious devotion has nothing to do with how he would fit in at OU. Rose just likes where he is at he has had some success, and BYU has an exciting future with some talented players coming in. There is nothing wrong with Joe C. feeling him out a little bit.

Dave Rose is not a Utah lifer. He was born and raised in Houston, Texas, so when he became part of Phi Slamma Jamma he was going back home. But he has put down roots in Utah after being there for 20 years or so and he knows that BYU will be back to the Sweet 16 in a year or two, with the potential of going farther next time.

I do kind of wish Capel would have gotten one more year. I remember two years ago when Ou had the Griffen brothers and made it to the elite 8, Capel was a pretty high candidate for some pretty good coaching vacancies. I may be wrong, but I think Arizona may have been one and Ou had to up his salary to keep him. I mean many coaches out there were recruiting Tommy Mason Griffen, Tiny Gallon, Willie Warren, and rest of the guys they had in 09'-10' season. I think they were all individually good, but didn't have the right attitudes and never gelled as a team. That's not all Capel's fault. Plus, he couldn't help that they left early for the NBA. He was kind of put in a bad position for this season. This next season actually seemed promising, because there is some young, talented players that got valuable experience this year. Also, Capel was pretty high on Romero Osby getting to play this upcoming season. As a fan, I would've liked to see what he could have done with these guys next season. If he didn't get better results next season, then I would've been okay to see a change.

One thing for sure about hiring a coach from the State of Utah is minority high school kids-aka-white boys that can jump, would get a fair chance to play, like Duke.
