Mike Leach will return to college football this season as a game analyst for cable’s CBS College Sports, calling Mountain West, Conference USA and service academy games.

Leach, who in 10 years coaching Texas Tech became a cult hero for his unorthodox observations and quotes, is sitting out this season, while he resolves a lawsuit against Tech.

Most fans will be excited about Leach’s return. That includes OU defensive coordinator Brent Venables, a 1999 colleague of Leach and an X’s and O’s combatant these last 10 years when Leach terrorized college football with his Texas Tech offense.
