OSU football: Offensive coordinators get noticed
In the 1970s, Oklahoma State had seven offensive coordinators, counting Pug Gabrel just once, even though he had two stints. None of those six became major-college head coaches.
Since then, OSU has had 13 offensive coordinators, counting Mike Gundy only once even though he’s had two stints. Of those 13, seven have gone on to become major-college head coaches, counting Dana Holgorsen, who apparently is on his way to West Virginia’s staff as a coach-in-waiting.
No doubt about, the Cowboys’ profile has improved. Here are the OSU offensive coordinators, going back 40 years:
