After the loss to Iowa State, Oklahoma point guard Sam Grooms was very candid. Here’s what he had to say.

On the loss: We did everything we were supposed to do for 35 minutes and for four minutes and 30 seconds of it they got some shots and they made it. You’ve got to give them credit. They stuck with their game plan and they made them.

On the feeling he had: It’s probably the most frustrating thing ever. We don’t finish the game out after we play so well and do everything we were supposed to do. That’s probably the most hurtful part of it.

We were right there. We had the chance to play tomorrow and we just didn’t finish the game up. That’ll stick in my head probably the next couple days.

On what changed in them after those 35 minutes: I don’t know. I think we’ve done enough to make it to the postseason … I just feel for whoever plays us first because I think we’re going to put everything together and put it on the line. Definitely. When it’s a one-and-done then when you know you’re playing and you still have a chance of playing later on.

On how this feels: Depressing. That’s the biggest thing. It’s depressing. It’s frustrating. It’s kind of humiliating in a sense. I think everybody picked us to win this game and for the most part, we had the game. It’s a hurtful feeling.
