Worker returns $14,000 to diner customer Published: March 28, 2013

McALESTER -- Finding clothing left at a restaurant isn't all that unusual.

But when an employee at a McAlester felt the pockets of a jacket left behind by a diner, she knew this was out of the ordinary.

Inside, she found $14,000 in $100 bills, the McAlester News-Capital reported.

A Bartlesville man and his wife stopped in Pete's Place in Krebs to eat after they had traveled to the area in hopes of buying a used car.

The car turned out to be less than they expected. So, they were heading home when they stopped in Krebs.

When they had finished and left, the man noticed his jacket missing and thought he probably had left it at Pete's Place.

Sure enough, he was right. He called the restaurant and spoke to the employee who found it, Kathy Prichard.

That led to a long but happy drive back to Krebs.
