New FEMA Region 6 administrator is sworn in

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency has sworn in a new administrator for Region 6 that includes Oklahoma and Arkansas.

FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate says Tony Robinson was sworn in Thursday to fill the position vacated by Tony Russell when Russell was named superintendent of FEMA's Emergency Management Institute.

Robinson's duties will include working with state and local emergency managers in preparation for and response to disasters.

Other states in the region are Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico.
