Right tackle Eric Mensik has injured his MCL, which will cause him to miss the rest of spring practice.

Coach Bob Stoops said Mensik won’t have surgery, and should be cleared in 6-8 weeks.

“It could have been a lot worse,” Stoops said. “He’ll concentrate on getting stronger in his upper body while that heals, and that’s something that usually heals really well.”

Mensik, a converted tight end, is competing with Cory Brandon for the starting spot at right tackle.

  I`d rather have Mensik in there. Better blocker and less penalties. Brandon`s penalties killed us.

  Great more freakin injuries! Well at least he is not the starter. I don't believe he'll beat out Brandon, but Brandon better stop holding.
