KC TV station: Texas, A&M to Big Ten; OU to pursue SEC

To bad OU doesn't have an AD that can honor the tradition that Texas A&M, Nebraska, Colorado has. That panty waisted liberal OU has is a disgrace. Going to a left wing conference like the PAC-10, when we could go to the best SEC. To bad the leaders of the departments that are concerned are not proud represenatives of what being a Sooner means. I say JC, unless he goes to the SEC, needs to go back to MO.

Why is OU acting like a Texas's bitch? This is an embarassment to the University, get some stones and go do your own thing join the SEC Who cares about Texas? You can play em non conference like you did for a 100 years before the Big 12.

Most of the posts on here have understandably been about athletics. OU should consider a move to the Big Ten along with Nebraska. The Sooners would also be a perfect fit for the Big Ten. OU has the outstanding academic as well as athletic reputation that would be attractive to the the Big Ten Conference. Research resources for the university could be increased dramatically. The OU/Texas rivalry would survive being in a different conference just as it did in the Big Eight / SWC days. Get real and do your own thing OU. You don't have to act like a little brother and follow Texas. Who cares what they do? They don't dictate the entire world of collegiate affiliations. Maybe you could even revive that purest and highest of rivalries in college football with the Huskers, except it would be in the Big Ten.

Who cares what Texass does. OU is an elite football entity in its own right. Thing is...people won't treat you that way if you don't act that way. At this point it seems...it seems..as if OU is good with following Texass to the Pac-whatever and being an add-on instead of being a marquee player in the conference expansion game taking place before our eyes. Go east to where football is King! OU has owned the Big 12 for most of the 2000's, played its share of SEC schools and held its own on the highest of stages. Talk about being on tv every week? With the schedule you'd get by joining the SEC...they'd probably be on national tv(cbs'marquee game, espn marquee game) just about every week playing the LSU's, BAMA's, and Gator's of the world. Who watches the Big Ten Network anyway on saturdays. Fox Sports network rarely has games that are marquee. Pac-whatever games would be on too late, and probably on FSN. Whoever the powers that be are at OU.....PLEASE GET AHEAD OF THIS MESS!!! I'd luv to hear BOOMER SOONER at any SEC venue.

As a sooner i would love to join the SEC. Getting to play with the top dogs in football would be great. And as for texas, who cares what conference they go to! i say they are going to the Pac 10 or the Big 10 because they always want to be on "top" and if they joined the SEC they wouldn't be considered on top.

To JOSH @ 3:35 You are a moron. KCTV is an OKC TV Station. Those are the initials. It has nothing to do with Kansas City. Therefore it very well could be a reporter getting their school attention. BTW, TCU in 2007 had a top 20 revenue in college football.

Well, this is all rather absurd and tragic for tradition, but the Big 12 had sort of settled in and was becoming a tradition. Bigger beyond where it is isn't progress, but OU is a bad fit in the PAC 10, better fit in SEC. Either way, nobody except Nebraska and Colorado is coming out in better and rational fashion. Common sense suggests the rest of the Big 12 stay together and add two schools to replace Colorado and Nebraska, but it looks like the end of real college football to me.

OU fans...I'm talking to you! Tell your adminstration that the SEC is where you want to be! As a Bama alum, it would be AWESOME...I mean AWESOME to welcome ya'll to the fun that is SEC football every Saturday. Trust me! There isn't a boring Saturday in this league. EVER! You guys would fit right in! You're just like us and ya'll know it. You're one of the premier teams in college football. We know it, you know it, and everyone else knows it. Sure you've got Texas now, but... Picture this... OU vs Tennessee, OU vs Bama, OU vs Florida, OU vs Arkansas, OU vs LSU, OU vs Georgia, OU vs Auburn...and many of those games would be EVERY YEAR! I hope we get to welcome you to the family soon! SEC fan and Bama alum with fingers crossed!

as a BOOMER SOONER. it sucks seeing the big 12 break up like this. can't stand to lose the rivalries. texas going to a different conference. all this is like sacrolige and i'm hugely disappointed with all this bcs bs. but i agree forget the pac ??? hope that sweet tea is spiked cause i want the SEC!!!

OU go to the SEC and THRIVE! All recruits want to play in the top football conference. Let Texas do what it wants to, and OU do what it wants to.

As an Arkansas fan, I can tell you that adding Oklahoma to the SEC would be one of the greatest things that has ever happened to the conference. You guys are obviously one of the top 5 programs in the country. Adding the tradition, heritage and elite status of your program to a conference with Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU and Florida would be absolutely incredible! Not only that, your fanbase has the same attitude and culture of SEC fans. You're wild, crazy, passionate and live & die over college football. Just like everyone in Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee and Louisiana. Do you really think the vast majority of people in Los Angeles, Seattle or BERKELEY care about football? Oklahoma is a god-fearing, gun-toting, football-crazy state. Remember - you don't wear roman sandals in Muskogee? I can't imagine you guys having to play in California with the arrogant Stanford and Cal people! Come home to the SEC!! We'll have the sweet tea ready and play the best football in the country!!
