Six Sooners named to All-Big 12 team
The Big 12 released its preseason All-Big 12 team, and a league-high six Sooners made the list, not including Ryan Broyles making it twice as a receiver and a specialist.
Not surprisingly, RB DeMarco Murray joined Broyles on the offensive team, though guard Stephen Good being name is somewhat of a surprise, considering he was a part-time starter last season. Good, however, has all the tools to become a big-time offensive lineman.
Defensively, DE Jeremy Beal, LB Travis Lewis and S Quinton Carter, all much deserving, made the team.
Broyles was the punt returner.
Hard to argue in favor of anyone left off.
DT Adrian Taylor is coming off a major injury, DE Frank Alexander wasn’t going to make it Beal back, P Tress Way is about a wash with Derek Epperson, but Epperson is a senior, and QB Landry Jones, who has a good chance to be on this list at season’s end, doesn’t have the credentials yet of a Jerrod Johnson.
