A lot of buzz this spring has centered around incoming freshman wide receiver Trey Metoyer. Rightfully so.

But junior Trey Franks, entering his third year in the program, also has had a highly productive spring.

“Trey Franks has played as well as anybody,” said offensive coordinator Josh Heupel. “He’s been explosive, competitive to the catch. He hasn’t dropped any balls. He’s been playing at a high level. And he’s been good in the run game, too. He’s been physical.”

Franks hauled in 29 receptions his freshman year, 22 last season.

  A pair of Trey's isn't a good hand. Takes 20 players, not 2. Lot of work left to equal a Switzer team. OU has the 12th man-the DOK.

  Trey Franks is fast. I hope Josh Heupel can use his slash and burn speed in some different sets. There is so much talent on this team I wish Heupel knew how to employ a wishbone set as part of the offensive scheme. The "Wishbone" made OU into a powerhouse and it would be a travesty to lose that tradition. "Go for #8"

  Trey Franks needs extra time in the Oklahoma drill. I want him to be able to break tackles from DBs.
