With the steady stream of OU players and a recent burst of OSU talent, state representation in the NFL is growing.

And many of those former players are still in the early stages of their career, expected to be play prominent roles on their respective teams.

So, throughout another interesting football season, I’m going to be constantly updating the ongoings of these now legendary Sooners and Cowboys.

Here’s a look at where you can find some of the recent big names in Preseason Week 2, which starts tonight:

Thursday

QB Brandon Weeden (OSU) – Cleveland Browns
Opponent: at Green Bay – 7 p.m.
Week 1 stats: 3-9 passing for 62 yards / 1 interception / 1 fumble lost
Quick look: Probably not how Weeden envisioned his first taste of the NFL would go, but it’s just preseason. At this point, his starting job is not in jeopardy. But a few more similar outings, combining his struggles with Colt McCoy’s strong play, and things could change. Weeden is expected to play the entire first half.

WR Josh Cooper (OSU) – Cleveland Browns
Opponent: at Green Bay – 7 p.m.
Week 1 stats:  3 catches for 24 yards
Quick look: The undervalued slot receiver looks to lock up what was once considered a longshot roster spot. He was impressive in the opener, making a highlight catch in his extended run with the second teamers.

TE Jermaine Gresham (OU) – Cincinnati Bengals
Opponent: at Atlanta – 7 p.m.
Week 1 stats: 1 catch for 19 yards
Quick look: Big year for Gresham in 2012 (596 yards, 6 TDs). Singular goal for the athletic but oft-injured tight end this preseason? Stay healthy.
