The Man Beneath The Helmet: Chuka Ndulue

Every year we learn their names, their numbers and their stats. If we’re lucky, we see their personality shine through after a big play or during the slice of a quote in the newspaper. The men in the Oklahoma Sooners jerseys are more than a number in a program or another chance at a national title. They are student athletes with stories waiting to be told. We’d like to thank OU Athletics Communications staff for their assistance. The Oklahoman brings you “The Man Beneath The Helmet.”

NAME: Chuka

NICKNAME: Chukaduka

If I weren’t playing football, I’d be playing soccer

If I could trade positions for a day, I’d choose safety

My favorite part of OU is Memorial Stadium

Despite what you’ve heard, I’ve never eaten jambalaya.

My favorite part of football is game day.

I chose my number because my high school coach had the same number.

I’m on Twitter all day, every day

My favorite meal my momma makes is baked chicken and rice.

I chose OU to win a national title

Most people don’t know this but I speak almost three languages.

The toughest part about being a student athlete is time management.

I wish I could be a billionaire.

My best stress reliever is music and cartoons.

On game day, I listen to rap and old school/funk.

If I could be Big 12 commissioner for a day I would allow football games with no pads.

Something you should know about this team is we are one big family.

My favorite super hero is Flash.

Nothing pumps me up more on Game Day than music and the fans.

My celebrity crush is Hope Solo.

The person who motivates me most is my family and my high school coach.

Oklahoma football is my way of life.
