The Man Beneath The Helmet: Trey Millard

Every year we learn their names, their numbers and their stats. If we’re lucky, we see their personality shine through after a big play or during the slice of a quote in the newspaper. The men in the Oklahoma Sooners jerseys are more than a number in a program or another chance at a national title. They are student athletes with stories waiting to be told. We’d like to thank OU Athletics Communications staff for their assistance. The Oklahoman brings you “The Man Beneath The Helmet.”

NAME: Trey Millard

If I weren’t playing football, I’d be working and going to college.

If I could trade positions for a day, I’d choose safety

My favorite part of OU is Memorial Stadium

My favorite part of football is game day

I chose my number because a bunch of little reasons but the biggest being it was my brothers.

I’m on Twitter once an hour

My favorite meal my momma makes is slickers. It’s kind of like dumplings.

I chose OU for the tradition and to win a national title

Most people don’t know this but I went to Haiti this summer for a  mission trip.

The toughest part about being a student athlete is handling school and workouts.

I wish I could be technically perfect.

My best stress reliever is praying.

On game day, I listen to rap and Dubstep.

Something you should know about this team is our expectations for ourselves is high.

My favorite super hero is Wolverine.

Nothing pumps me up more on Game Day than music and the fans.

My celebrity crush is Emma Watson.

The person who motivates me most is God.

Oklahoma football is bigger than any player, coach or team.
