George Whitfield doesn’t think fans should jump off the Sooners’ “plane”
“Just sit down and buckle your seat belt. It’s a long flight. The guy is going to fly this plane for another two, three more months through many more battles.
“They hit a little turbulence last weekend but I wouldn’t bail off the plane. They’re going to have a great season. It was one tough loss to a very, very talented team and anything’s going to happen down the stretch. Everything’s relative and I think all the excitement about the loss speaks to people’s expectations about Landry and the team which in a weird way is a positive that they expected an awful lot.
“He’s one brilliant performance from being right back. Fans are fans and they’re kind of going to live and die with them. I can’t really fault Sooners fans but I would just say … we’ve got many more games to play and you’ve got one of the best at his position leading the charge. I think everybody’s just got to inhale and exhale and get ready to tailgate for the next game.”
