LUBBOCK, Texas — On Oklahoma’s first drive of the second half, Jones avoided a near sack by Tech defensive end Dartwan Bush and hit running back Damien Williams in stride near the sideline, just over the outstretched arms of another Red Raider defender.

Williams picked up 38 yards on the play, which set up a touchdown that put OU up 31-13.

“At first I thought he was trying to throw the ball out,” Williams said. “Everybody didn’t think I was gonna catch it, but I have good enough hands to catch the ball and get upfield.”

Williams, in his first start as a Sooner, gained 48 yards on 14 carries, but also caught six passes for a team-high 82 yards.
