Oklahoma men’s basketball to live stream open practices
Oklahoma is believed to be the first Division I program to do so.
This news is just another step beyond what second-year coach Lon Kruger and the men’s basketball team did last year when they opened the doors to the public for every practice.
The first live-streamed practice, audio included, will be Oklahoma’s first practice on Friday, Oct. 12.
“We’ve said since day one that this is ‘our’ team, meaning we want the fans to play a huge part in our success,” Kruger said per OU Athletics. “We welcome and encourage fans to attend our practices, but we realize that for various reasons not everyone is able to make it. Now, no matter where they may be located, fans can check in on our progress, see what we’re working on and get to know our players.”
Practices during the week begin at 2 p.m. CST and lasts for around two and a half hours. The video may be closed during specific portions of practice. This will be determined at the coaching staff’s discretion.
