Then Washington and the defense helped stuff David Ash for a total of two first downs in the first half — allowing Oklahoma to build a lead and win 63-21 in the 107th meeting of the Red River Rivalry.

During post-game interviews, The Oklahoman asked Washington if he was upset that his contributions made so many Texas’ fans leave early that they were allowed to enjoy corn dogs sooner than him.

“Oh that’s fine,” Washington said, “because while they were eating, we were eating. It’s just a different kind of food.

“I’m going to go get me a corn dog. Whatever it is, this victory dog is going to taste great.”
