Oklahoma recruit Courtney Gardner announced via Twitter on Sunday that he will not run across Owen Field next year.

Before Sunday night’s announcement, Gardner was supposed to enroll at Oklahoma in January. He would have two seasons of eligibility since he didn’t play football this fall. Last year with Sierra, though, the wide receiver totaled 1,099 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

In Oklahoma’s win on Saturday to Iowa State, quarterback Landry Jones threw to nine different receivers.
