OKC Barons move up in standings, blow out Rockford

— Anton Lander set a club record with six points, including a hat trick, as the Oklahoma City Barons beat the Rockford IceHogs 7-3 in American Hockey League action on Saturday night.

With the win, the Barons moved into eighth place in the Western Conference. OKC has 74 points, one more than ninth-place Chicago, two more than 10th-place Abbotsford and three more than the 11th-place IceHogs. The top eight teams make the Calder Cup playoffs.

The Barons broke the game open with a five-goal second period and scored seven unanswered goals after falling behind 2-0 in the first.

Teemu Hartikainen added a pair of goals for Oklahoma City, which improved to 32-23-2-8 this season. Yann Danis stopped 24 shots to raise his record to 19-14-5.

The Barons return home to face the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Tuesday
