A SWAT team arrested a man after he barricaded himself and two children in an apartment early Sunday, Oklahoma City police said.
Fernando Arledge, 35, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. after officers forced their way into the apartment. He was arrested on a domestic violence assault and battery with a dangerous weapon complaint, police Capt. Dexter Nelson said.
Police were called about 1:50 a.m. to Willow Cliff Apartments, 5304 Willow Cliff Road, in response to a stabbing, he said.
The victim jumped out of a second-story apartment to escape her attacker. The man barricaded himself and two children in the apartment when police arrived, Nelson said
The children, 14 and 4, were found unharmed after the standoff, and the victim was treated and released Sunday morning, Nelson said.
Arledge is in Oklahoma County jail. His bail is to be set by a judge.
Willow Cliff Apartments is the apartment complex where Officer Jeff Coffey suffered a broken leg Wednesday morning when he was trying to restrain a suspect. Also, a body was also found March 2 in a burning car March 2 at the complex.
