EDMOND — Some people think exercise is the best way to wrap up the Girl Scouts' annual cookie sales season.
“We thought it was a healthy way to end the season, a healthy balance,” leader Melissa Beck said of the weekend run.
Members of the Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma Junior Girl Scout Troop 889 created the “Run Your Cookies Off” 5k and 10k races to benefit west Edmond and Deer Creek Girl Scouts.
The second annual race was held Saturday at J.L. Mitch Park. Edmond's Junior Troop 889 originally organized the race to earn the bronze award, the highest award a Scout can earn at that level.
