Voters will go to the polls Tuesday to decide Edmond's mayor and Ward 4 city council races.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All registered voters living in the city limits can vote in both races.

Incumbent Mayor Charles Lamb, 66, faces Richard Prawdzienski, 65, for a two-year term.

In Ward 4, Nick Massey, 65, the incumbent councilman, is opposed by Shilpa Abbitt, 42, for a four-year term.

Lamb, who has lived in Edmond since 1959, has been on the city council 16 years. He was appointed mayor in October 2011 after former Mayor Patrice Douglas resigned to become a state corporation commissioner. Lamb represented Ward 3 before his appointment as mayor.

Prawdzienski has been an Edmond resident since 1996. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked in logistics at Tinker Air Force Base.

Massey was appointed to the Ward 4 council position a year ago to fill the unexpired term of David Miller, who resigned to take a job out of state.

Massey, who served as vice chairman of Edmond Economic Development Authority and a council representative on the board of directors, is president of a finance planning company.

Abbitt, a Devon Energy reservoir engineer, is seeking public office for the first time. She and her husband, Wyatt, moved to Edmond in 2001. They have two sons.
