Regarding “Tulsa dentist office shut by violations” (News, March 29) and “Dentist's patients are angered by need for HIV, hepatitis tests” (News, March 30): This is a major embarrassment for our state, with several days of national news coverage. Would it be asking too much for state health inspectors to make brief random drop-in visits to dental offices? With such visits the critical practices affecting patient safety (internal processes for instruments and consumables) could be quickly assessed and electronically added to a modern state database for future reference.
