Norman block party celebrates neighborhood

The Center for Children and Families will host the “I Love My Neighborhood” block party Saturday in Norman featuring games, crafts, entertainment and free food.

— The Center for Children and Families will host its 13th annual “I Love My Neighborhood” block party from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Trinity Baptist Church at Frank and Peters streets.

The block party is a family-friendly event designed to promote relationships between residents and local organizations.

The Neighborhood Centers program sponsored by the Center for Children and Families offers out-of-school and summer enrichment activities and youth mentoring at Kennedy and Wilson elementary schools.

Local businesses and organizations will host booths at the party, offering games, crafts and public information.

Performing at the event will be the Wilson Elementary Choir, Trinity Baptist Star Song Singers and other musical guests. Free hot dogs, drinks and desserts will be served.
