Edmond elementary school to pay homage to state’s heritage

Edmond School Board members voted to name the district’s newest school Heritage Elementary, to recognize Oklahoma trailblazers. The school is to open in fall 2014.

EDMOND — The elementary school scheduled to open next year, known until this week as Edmond School No. 17, now has a name.

Heritage Elementary School was the name unanimously approved by the school board after Lynne Rowley, director of elementary education, told the audience the story behind the name selection process.
