City, district attorney in dispute over detective's credibility Published: April 4, 2013

CLAREMORE -- A legal battle has developed between the City of Claremore and the district attorney over a detective's investigative integrity.

The Claremore Progress reports that each side is accusing the other of misrepresenting the facts to the judge hearing the case.

The fight centers on the credibility of Detective John Singer.

District Attorney Janice Steidley says District Judge Dynda R. Post should reverse a decision allowing Singer to intervene in a case in which Steidley questioned his integrity.

City Attorney Matt Ballard says the matter needs "further inquiry from this court."

The argument revolves around actions and comments from the detective in previous cases.
