Coming this fall: Nordstrom Rack in Oklahoma City.
Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. announced Thursday it will open a 34,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack in the former Linens ’n Things at Belle Isle Station, joining Babies R Us, Kirkland’s, Ross, Old Navy and Shoe Carnival. The center is also near Walmart and Penn Square Mall.
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price division of Nordstrom, carrying clearance merchandise and made-for-Nordstrom Rack items from brands like Hugo Boss, Kate Spade and Trina Turk, said Megan Garvey, a spokeswoman for Nordstrom. Merchandise will include clothing and accessories for women, men and children.
“It’s the ultimate treasure hunt. It’s great brands at great savings,” she said.
The retailer has been rumored to be planning an Oklahoma City location since last year. In August, Nordstrom filed a commercial building permit to begin a $2 million remodel of the Belle Isle space but an official announcement was not made until Thursday.
Linens ’n Things closed its doors at the end of 2008.
The Nordstrom Rack is expected to open this fall and will be Nordstrom’s first location in Oklahoma.
“We’re excited to have the opportunity to bring a Nordstrom Rack to Oklahoma City with our new location at Belle Isle Station,” Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack, said in a statement. “We want to be a part of compelling locations across the country and are looking forward to getting our doors open.”
