— Three homes were evacuated when a natural gas compressor station exploded, authorities said.

One employee at the facility when it exploded was not hurt, Guthrie Fire Chief Eric Harlow said.

About 9 p.m., the explosion was reported at the station on Pottawatomie Road, about three miles south of State Highway 105 in Logan County.

The cause of the explosion was not known Thursday night, Harlow said.

Wet weather and quick response from the Guthrie, Coyle and Meridian fire departments allowed the flames to be contained within an hour, but it is unknown when the fire will be extinguished, he said.
