Edmond School Board names new principals

Edmond officials announced the hiring of five new elementary school principals.

School board members have approved the hiring of five new principals for Edmond elementary campuses.

Michele Milner is the new principal of Northern Hills Elementary. Milner was a principal in Purcell for five years as well as a kindergarten, first- and third-grade teacher for a total of nine years.

Lisa Crosslin was named principal of West Field Elementary. She has experience as a teacher, counselor, principal and adjunct professor.

Teri Cowden-Draper will serve as principal of Clegern Elementary. She brings 15 years of classroom experience in three districts. She achieved National Board Certification in 2000 and has served as Northern Hills assistant principal in Edmond since 2006.

Kartina McDaniel was named Sunset Elementary School principal. She is a National Board Certified teacher and has served as an early childhood curriculum coordinator, assistant principal at John Ross Elementary and principal at John Burroughs Elementary in Tulsa.

Christa Ellis will be the new principal of John Ross Elementary. She currently serves as assistant principal for Sunset Elementary.

The principals who will be replaced are retiring, moving out of state or changing positions within the district at the end of the school year.

The new principals will assume their posts July 1.
