Judge moves one of Kevin Sweat's two murder trials to Creek County

OKEMAH – An Okfuskee County judge has ordered one of two murder trials pending against Kevin Sweat, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend and two Weleetka girls, moved to Creek County.

Sweat, 27, was charged in Sept. 2011 with first-degree murder in the death of his former fiancée Ashley Taylor and subsequently ordered to stand trial in the case.

District Judge Lawrence Parish ordered a change of venue on Tuesday, moving the murder trial from Okemah to Bristow. The trial is scheduled to begin June 10.
