Carnell Franklin Ray, 30, is charged in the death of James "Jimmy" Taylor, the Lawton Constitution reports.
The charge against Ray is first-degree murder with deliberate intent to commit a felony crime after former conviction of a felony crime, according to court records, the newspaper reported.
Ray has been denied bond.
The incident occurred April 1. Anadarko police said Ray was arrested after Taylor was hospitalized, suffering from injuries he received in a violent beating at a car wash.
Taylor died April 7 in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Witnesses told police a man later identified as Ray beat Taylor before running off. The newspaper said the investigating officer was told Ray was seen throwing his father on the ground and kicking and stomping him in the face, chest, neck and nose.
