Event: 200 Freestyle
The Story: Niemann won the Class 6A state championship in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.99, defending the state title she won as a freshman in the event. She placed second in the 500 freestyle.
Swimmer of the Year
Event: 200 Individual Medley
The Story: Robertson captured four gold medals in the Class 6A state championships in Jenks. She defended her title in the 200 Individual Medley and set a state record in the event.
Robertson also won the 100 breast stroke and was a member of two championship relay teams, anchoring the 200 freestyle relay which set a state record.
Event: 50 Freestyle
The story: Rayburn finished third in the event with a time of 24.81 after a fifth-place finish last season. She also placed second in the 100 freestyle in the 6A championships.
Event: 100 Butterfly
The story: In her first appearance in the state swimming championships, Sarantakos captured the title in the 100 butterfly, edging Annah Baykal of Edmond Memorial. Sarantakos also finished second in the 200 freestyle.
Event: 100 Freestyle
The story: A foreign exchange student from Germany, Lukannek won both of her individual events in the Class 5A state championships, capturing the 100 freestyle and the 50 freestyle.
Event: 500 Freestyle
The story: Linhardt's first trip to the 6A state swimming championships couldn't have gone any better.
She won two state individual titles in the 500 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. She also was a member on two of Edmond North's state championship relay squads, the 200 medley and 400 freestyle.
Event: 100 Backstroke
The story: Ballard swam to two third-place finishes in the state 6A championships in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. She finished less than a second behind state champion Madie Sarantakos in the 100 butterfly and just over a second behind state champ Rylee Lindhardt in the 100 backstroke.
Event: 100 Breast stroke
The story: Baykal finished her high school swimming career with a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly, just .19 behind Madie Sarantakos, and a third-place finish in the 100 breast stroke.
She broke the Edmond Memorial school record for the fastest time in the 100 breast stroke. That record had stood for 31 years
Coach of the Year
The story: Riggs led the Edmond North Lady Huskies to their third straight state swimming championship, dominating the rest of the Class 6A field and setting two state records. Edmond North won seven of the 11 races in the state swim meet, including all three relays.
