The Thunder has traded for Denver point guard Chucky Atkins, sending reserve center Johan Petro to the Nuggets.
Oklahoma City will also receive the Nuggets’ first round pick in the 2009 draft and give Denver a second-round pick in this year’s draft.
The deal, which was first reported by the Denver Post and is expected to be announced later today, will give the Thunder three first-round draft picks in this year’s draft.
Atkins, a 10-year veteran, is averaging 1.9 points, 2.0 assists and 8.2 minutes in 14 games this season. Petro was averaging 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 22 games.
