Sign Thunder will improve

It’s almost time for NBA Fantasy basketball leagues.

Yahoo’s rankings are interesting. They’re proof all the hype around the Thunder being a team on the rise has some merit.

Individual fantasy owners can pick players where they want but Yahoo ranks all players in the NBA.

Kevin Durant is ranked No. 7 behind stars like LeBron, Kobe, Dwyane Wade and the other elite players, more evidence that many believe that Durant statitically is ready to be among the league’s top players.

Russell Westbrook is ranked No. 70. Jeff Green No. 75. While that sounds low keep in mind there are 30 teams.  Some teams only have one or two players ranked in the top 75.

The Thunder also has James Harden listed at No. 141, Nenad Krstic at No. 181 and Nick Collison No. 183. Once again, it doesn’t sound that high but with 30 teams the average would be six players in the top 180 which is about what OKC has in the preseason rankings.

With one bona fide star, a couple of other young players ranked fairly high in the rankings and six players overall, Yahoo’s Fantasy rankings are another sign the Thunder has a good future. It’s simply a matter of when the Thunder becomes a viable playoff contender.
