Thunder Has Reason To Believe It Can Come Back
Only 14 teams in NBA history have ever come back to win a best-of-seven series after trailing 2-0. The Thunder will have to become the 15th team in order to reach its first NBA Finals. According to the odds, the Thunder has only a 5.7 percent chance of coming back and winning this Western Conference final. Add to that, the Thunder has yet to prove it can consistently stop the Spurs. "Well, the way you described it, I don’t know if there is anything we can do," veteran guard Derek Fisher quipped Wednesday when asked what could be done to get back in the series. "I guess we should just not show up." If anyone has reason to believe, it's Fisher. The veteran point guard has played on two of the fortunate 14 that have rallied to win after falling behind 2-0. He was a member of the Lakers team that took out San Antonio in six games in the 2004 semifinals and was a contributor for Utah when the Jazz came back to knock off Houston in the first round in 2007. Thunder coach Scott Brooks also was a member of the Houston team that came back to beat Phoenix in the '94 semifinals. Fisher's Lakers in 2004 won four straight to oust the Spurs in six. But Fisher's Jazz in '07 and Brooks' Rockets in '94 both needed seven games to take the series. Fisher and the Jazz in 2007 even won Game 7 on Houston's home floor. Here's a look at all 14 teams that have gone on to win a best-of-seven series after trailing 2-0.
