What Players Want to see in the Final 10

In today's paper, I wrote about 10 things to watch in the Thunder's final 10 games. Here is what various players had to say when asked a few of the things they're looking to see down the stretch. KEVIN DURANT"I like the way we're moving the ball. I like the way we're helping each other out on defense and talking. So if we can keep that up, no matter what we'll be fine. Right now, I know we love to win basketball games but it's about building our habits. It's 10 games left and we want to just continue on building playing sound, solid defense, moving the ball on offense and going out there and wrecking havoc; getting steals, getting blocked shots and trying to get some easy points. RUSSELL WESTBROOK "Just playing consistent. Just continue playing the way we've been doing defensively and just moving forward toward the playoffs." THABO SEFOLOSHA "Just keep playing tough and building the trust defensively. I think that's all we can do. Keep communicating and the rest will take care of itself." NICK COLLISON "I think for us always it's execution on the offensive end and defensively. And I'd like to see our focus and our energy be high and really be into each game, each possession. I think that's how we get better as a team. We want to be playing our best basketball at the end of the year so that's what we'll be shooting for." KENDRICK PERKINS "Our goal is a team can't score no more than 24 points a quarter. That's one of our goals. That's our main goal." DEREK FISHER "I think just a continuation of the idea that our identity has to be set in stone. Regardless of who we're playing against, what night of the week it is, where it is, we're going to play hard, we're going to play tough, we're going to defend and then we'll allow what happens as we flow into offense to happen. We don't have to have a prescription for certain guys getting a certain amount of shots. If we just play the game the right way, move the basketball, share the ball, offensively things will work out. We got two studs obviously that are the best in the league. They'll always get the most touches. But I think our identity has to be set in stone. We're going to defend. We're going to lock people down. Offensively, we're going to move the basketball, we're going to share the ball, we're going to play together. And we're just going to overwhelm teams with playing a consistent brand of basketball. Limiting our volatility so to speak. We want to become that team that when you show up to watch us play you know what you're going to see, and I think we can continue to work toward that over the next few weeks." -DM-
