You see the grainy footage on YouTube and have a hard time believing it’s really Thunder shooting guard Thabo Sefolosha. One of the NBA’s premier perimeter defenders certainly had an offensive flair to his game in his younger days growing up overseas.
There he is, his hair in cornrows, slashing in from the left wing and dunking over 6-foot-10 French center Pape Badiane in the summer of 2007. Sefolosha then pounds his chest hard in celebration, a behavior strikingly similar to a demonstrative point guard he would join in the Thunder’s starting backcourt less than two years later.
There he is that same summer, dishing himself an ally-oop pass off the backboard against Romania.
There he is on a breakaway against Bologna seven years ago.
And here he is on draft day in 2006, humble and soft-spoken from the very start.
