By Anthony Slater – Aslater@opubco.com - @anthonyVslater The above video gives you a nice perspective on the current NBA scoring race. And that's nice, because neither of the competitors, Carmelo Anthony or Kevin Durant, seem to be biting on recent questions gauging their interest and intrigue in winning the crown. ESPN's Bill Simmons gives you some nice historical context on the league's past scoring races, while former NBA player and current analyst Jalen Rose takes you inside the mind of a guy fighting to win the crown. Currently, after torching the Thunder for 36 on Sunday, Carmelo is averaging 28.44 per game, with seven contests to go. Durant, who scored 27 against Carmelo's Knicks in that head-to-head matchup, is at 28.35 per game, with six to go. That's about as close as a race can get down the stretch, with Durant trying to stretch his string of scoring crowns to four. Here's John Rohde's story from Sunday's Oklahoman, breaking down the race with comments from both players.
