IDW to publish Powerpuff Girls, Cartoon Network comics
IDW Publishing presented upcoming plans to attendees of the ComicsPRO Annual Membership Meeting in Atlanta, Ga. Among the highlights of those plans are a new line of comics based on Cartoon Network properties. These plans were first announced at today’s ComicsPRO meeting.
According to information provided by ComicsPRO, IDW is partnering with Cartoon Network to make Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Lab, Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, Samurai Jack, Ben 10 and many more comics. The first comic to be released will be Powerpuff Girls.
IDW has had recent success with all-ages licensed comics. The company’s “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” No. 1 sold more than 100,000 copies and is the best-selling comic book in the company’s history. IDW was founded in 1999, and publishes a mixture of licensed and original content.
