Oklahoma All-Access: This Should Be Fun

Perhaps you’ve heard that ESPN crews are documenting the first days of Oklahoma football practice this fall.
Our man Steve Sisney snapped a great shot Thursday morning showing a bit of what they’re doing. A cameraman trailed almost uncomfortably close behind Ryan Broyles as the Sooner wide receiver arrived for the team’s first practice.
No doubt it’s a view that plenty of opposing defensive backs have seen.
Whatever the 17-person crew comes away with — that’s the number of ESPN bodies in Norman for the fun — it will be bundled into two 30-minute shows. They will air in their entirety starting on Aug. 23 but will be cut down and run on a bunch of other ESPN platforms a week earlier.
All of which begs the question: what sort of fun can we expect?
For starters, Brent Venables.
The OU defensive coordinator is fiery with a capital F-I-E-R-Y. Everyone can see it during games when it looks like he’s about ready to jump into the rotation. He waves his arms. He jumps around. He yells all the time. He’s so amped up that even his fingers twitch. You can only imagine what he’s like during practice when he can actually be on the field with his guys.
