Every year we learn their names, their numbers and their stats. If we’re lucky, we see their personality shine through after a big play or during the slice of a quote in the newspaper. The men in the Oklahoma Sooners jerseys are more than a number in a program or another chance at a national title. They are student athletes with stories waiting to be told. We’d like to thank OU Athletics Communications staff for their assistance. The Oklahoman brings you “The Man Beneath The Helmet.”

NAME: Justin Brown

If I weren’t playing football, I’d be playing baseball.

If I could trade positions for a day, I’d choose quarterback.

My favorite part of OU is Campus Corner.

Despite what you’ve heard, I’ve never skydived.

My favorite part of football is game day

I chose my number because that’s what was given to me.

I’m on Twitter ten times a day.

My favorite meal my momma makes is fried chicken, mac and cheese, candy yams, sweet potato fries and collared greens.

I chose OU for the tradition.

Most people don’t know this but I am very quiet and shy.

The toughest part about being a student athlete is always being under a microscope.

I wish I could be faster.

My best stress reliever is talking to family.

On game day, I listen to  rap.

Something you should know about this team is there are a lot of characters/funny guys/comedians.

My favorite super hero is Batman.

Nothing pumps me up more on Game Day than my teammates.

My celebrity crush is Beyonce.

The person who motivates me most is my family.

Oklahoma football is a good experience.
