David Finch’s cover to “Brightest Day” #2 debuted today, and writer Geoff Johns told MTV that the series will bring some light to the DC Comics Universe.

“If ‘Blackest Night’ is about confronting emotion and being haunted by the past and embracing what we are, ‘Brightest Day’ is about being what we are and living it everyday,” said Johns. “It’s about finding out what our purpose is in life and grabbing on to it.”

I’m all for some light, even though “Blackest Night” has been a fun ride.  And a possible return of the heroic Aquaman – that could be interesting!   He appears to have the classic look, with the orange shirt and two hands, in the cover by Finch.
