Stand-up comedian Bert Kreischer crisscrosses the country for his Travel Channel series “Bert the Conqueror,” in which he tries out challenges from roller coasters to mud diving to catfish “grabblin.”

The Season One DVD contains nine episodes of “Bert the Conqueror,” along with a bonus disc featuring documentary programs.

In the premiere, Kreischer visits Cedar Point, Ohio, to attempt the “Fearsome Foursome” — riding the park’s fastest and tallest coasters in under an hour.

Despite a fear of heights, Kreischer manages to try out these challenges.

In the Las Vegas episode, Kreischer becomes the first regular citizen to jump from the Stratosphere hotel, the highest controlled free fall in the world at 855 ft.

Kreischer’s screams and facial contortions allow the viewer to feel some empathy while, through solid camera work, getting a feel for the experience without the stomach-churning drops.
