Olivia Munn: Nerdage’s #2 actress with geek appeal
One of our favorite former Oklahomans comes in at No. 2 on Nerdage’s list of actresses with geek appeal. Former “Attack of the Show” co-host Olivia Munn, who now appears on the Daily Show, spent part of her youth and college years in the Sooner state, and told George Lang that she’s proud to be from Oklahoma about it in a 2010 interview.
She appeared in “Iron Man 2″ alongside such luminaries as Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle in 2010, voiced a character on “Robot Chicken,” and appeared on the TV series “Chuck.”
While her show “Perfect Couples” lasted only a season, Munn remains busy, with three films and a TV pilot either in pre- or post-production, according to IMDB.
She’s been known as a hard worker going back to her days at KJRH in Tulsa.
“You know what it is? It’s just being so appreciative. This business can be so arbitrary and success is so hard to attain and can be fleeting,” Munn said in her interview with George Lang. “When you’re out here and you see how hard it is to get these opportunities, when they come around you just want to put all the effort to make sure you can do it all and not say no to anything.”
