Punisher War Zone limps out of starting gate

Over at Newsarama, Punisher War Zone is reported as the No. 8 movie for the week, opening with just $4 million.   Reviews haven’t been positive, and the film wasn’t screened for critics in Oklahoma. 

For those who saw it: What did you think?

And overall: Has the time for a Punisher film passed?  Is the character too rooted in the 1980s to take hold today? Or is it just waiting for a director and screenwriter with the right approach?
