DC Comics has provided comic book stores with a free comic book to give out today to celebrate “The Dark Knight Rises,” the new Batman movie directed by Christopher Nolan.

The comic features the first chapter of the “Batman: Earth One” graphic novel, by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, and an excerpt from “Batman: Court of Owls” by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo.

DC expects more than 500,00 free comics to be given away.

You can find a local comic book retailer by visiting the Comic Shop Locator.

And for those not near a comic shop, comiXology is making a digital version available.
